Darkroom vs Digital Techniques - Producing a digital negative

At some point in your photography career you may find that you will need to produce a digital negative.  These are more commonly used in the alternative photography field.

To produce your negative you will need to have access to a RAW or jpeg image, editing software, a printer, and specialist acetate film (this can usually be obtained from a stationers in the form of OPI acetate).

You will need to open your editing software and bring your image in your software.  I have screenshot the process.

Make a background copy.

Image > Adjustments >Black & White.

Image > Adjustments > Levels.

Image > Adjustments > Invert.

Resize in inches.

Final digital negative.

Finally, when you put the negative into the printer you may need to flip the image so that it's showing the negative side (as opposed to the positive size shown in my image - yes I forgot to flip the image).  So finally you can either flip your image in your editing software, or you can just flip the image on the printer.  (Some printers have the option to invert the image as well.)
